📤Setting Up SMTP Outbound Emails With Lend

Introduction

Like many Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, Lend enables you to send emails directly to your clients.

To make this happen using your own email address and mail server, you’ll need to set up SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol).

Think of SMTP as your email’s delivery service—it ensures your messages reach the right inbox securely. This guide will walk you through configuring your SMTP details in Lend, so you can personalize and manage your communications seamlessly.

Note SMTP sending is based on a user-lever in Lend. If your Lend account has multiple users the settings must be entered for each user. This is standard practice because each user should have a different email address.

  1. Login to Lend and go to your Account section and go to the SMTP Relay tab.

  2. Complete all the fields on the page and validate the details.

  3. We will send you an email with a code, enter the code to complete the validation.

SMTP Details

  • SMTP Host: Your outgoing server (e.g. smtp.live.com)

  • SMTP Port: Usually this is 587, but it can occasionally be 465 or 25

  • SMTP Encryption: This is the encryption type your SMTP account uses

  • SMTP Username: Usually your full email address, or the first part of your email address before the @ (e.g. you from [email protected])

  • SMTP Password: This is your email password

  • From Email: This is your email address, or email address you want the recipient to see

  • From Name: This is your name, or name you want the recipient to see

  • Reply to Email: This is your email address, or email address you want the recipient to reply to

Where to find your SMTP details:

Most mail providers usually make it easy to find your SMTP address and port. Often a quick Google search for “[your email provider] + SMTP” will provide you with the right page where you can find the info. In addition, you'll also need to know your email account username and password.

While it can be frustrating to try to find your correct SMTP details, once set up they’re usually solid for years.

Once you’re confident you’ve entered the correct settings, click the “Check SMTP Details” button.

Check Settings & Confirmation

Lend will now try to send an email using the settings you’ve entered. If everything goes well, you’ll get an email from your new SMTP mail delivery method with a code. Copy and paste the code to complete the validation.

No Email Confirmation? If your mail delivery method didn’t send you an email, please go back and work through the steps above.
