Troubleshooting Equifax
Having trouble pulling reports through Equifax? Before proceeding, ensure you've addressed all potential errors with the checklist and troubleshooting guide below. This will help you resolve most issues quickly without needing further assistance.
To generate a complete Equifax report, the following mandatory details must be accurately provided:
Client's Full Name (including middle name)
Residential Address (must be within Australia)
Date of Birth
Gender
Driverβs Licence Information (preferred)
IF no driver's licence, must provide sufficient forms of ID (Passport) + Proof of Address document (utilities bill, rates notice etc) to verify applicants address
Note: If your client has a previous address outside Australia, you must first generate the report using the Australian address before adding the previous address.
Common Equifax Error Messages
Symbols & Apostrophes
Equifax may have trouble processing names with apostrophes, such as "O'Brien." If you encounter an error, try removing the apostrophe and reattempting the search.
Middle Name
There have been reports of errors when a middle name is included. If a "No credit file found" or "No match" error occurs, try omitting the middle name and pulling the credit report again.
"No existing file found"
This error indicates that the person is either not registered with Equifax under the provided details or does not exist in their database. Double-check that all details are entered correctly. See the required fields section above for accuracy guidelines.
Tips & Tricks
If no report has been pulled from Equifax during your search (and a blank page error occurs) please allow 15 to 30 minutes before attempting to pull the report again.
If an error occurs while pulling the Equifax report, you can verify whether the report was successfully retrieved by selecting 'Previous Transactions' at the top of the page. This will display a list of all documents purchased in the last 30 days, which can be selected & downloaded.
